angdut singer Fitri Carlina recently launched a cake store dubbed Banyuwangi Savana Cake (BSC) on Aug. 20 in her hometown, Banyuwangi, East Java.
Apart from maintaining the quality of the food sold to the customers, Fitri said she also emphasized on excellent service from her employees.
“I implement the 5S principle: salam, sapa, senyum, sopan and santun [greeting, hello, smile, polite and well mannered],” said Fitri. “I ask the employees to always put a smile on their face, say hello and be polite."

The staffs are also required to wear Banyuwangi-style uniform.
Following a co-branding agreement with the Tourism Ministry, both the Wonderful Indonesia and Pesona Indonesia tourism brands will be placed on the cake’s packaging.
The ministry previously conducted a training for 200 human resources in Banyuwangi that aimed to increase awareness for tourism in the region. (kes)
