he first North Moyo Festival 2017 is currently ongoing until Aug. 31 in North Moyo Sebewe Village, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
The festival serves as a pre-event for the upcoming Moyo Festival 2017 that will be held for one full month from Sept. 10 to Oct. 9.

Representatives of Sail Indonesia 2017 who hailed from Australia and New Zealand and are currently traveling around the archipelago made time to attend the opening ceremony along with Tourism Ministry's Archipelago Marketing Development deputy Esthy Reko Astuti, House of Representatives deputy speaker Fahri Hamzah, Sumbawa Deputy Regent Mahmud Abdullah and Sumbawa Youth, Sports and Tourism Agency head Junaidi.
“[These kinds of festival are expected to] improve local economy, among other,” said Esthy.
“Other than agriculture, we also have authentic culture and nature for tourism,” added Mahmud. (kes)
