German cyclist wins first lap of Tour de Singkarak 2017

German athlete Robert Muller from Embrace The World Cycling team won the first lap with the total time 02:32:48.

he first lap of Tour de Singkarak 2017 cycling event was held on Nov. 18, starting from Istano Basa Pagaruyung, Tanah Datar and finished at Cimpago Beach, Padang.

German athlete Robert Muller from Embrace The World Cycling team won the first lap with the total time 02:32:48. Following behind is PaerapolChawchiangkwang from Thailand and in the third spot is Indonesian cyclist Jamah Hibatulloh from KFC Cycling Team.

“I’m pretty happy to get the best result, this is my first time coming to West Sumatra. The trip from start to finish was pretty exciting,” Robert said.

“I’m pretty happy with my first race at TdS, I hope the result from the first lap will give me encouragement to be better for upcoming laps,” added Jamal.

Padang Mayor was given the honor to hand over the placard to winners.

The second lap, from the total of nine laps, will be from Southern Coast Paninan to Sawahlunto with the total distance of 156 kilometers and will be held on Nov. 19. (asw)
