SIAL Interfood 2017 expo is officially open to visitors

The biggest food and beverages expo in Indonesia SIALInterfood 2017 was officiated on Nov. 22 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

The expo will run until Nov. 25 and features a number of activities such as cooking demo and competitions.

“This activity was initiated by several associations namely Professional Chefs Association, Indonesian Chefs Association and I Love Indonesian Food,” said the event’s committee’s head Daud D Salim.

A total of 800 people from 35 countries are participating in this event, in fact, 50 percent of the booths are rented by overseas participants.

Moreover, Tourism Ministry through its culinary and shopping tourism acceleration team is taking part at a gastronomy forum by Indonesian Gastronomy Academy (AGI) where they talk about The Role of Authenticity and Hygiene in the Development of Culinary and Shopping Tourism in Indonesia. (asw)
