Costa Victoria cruise ship carrying 1,980 tourists arrived in Sabang on Nov. 27 to attend the Sail Sabang 2017 event.

Its arrival at CT-3 Dock was welcomed with performances of Likok Pulo dance and Silat Aceh.

“These foreign tourists come from Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam. They are going straight to Banda Aceh to see Baiturrahman Grand Mosque and will return to Sabang,” told Sabang Tourism Agency head Adi Taufik. 

Additionally, Sabang has prepared 30 buses to transport these tourists.

Sabang city administration’s Assistant I Zakira said that Costa Victoria has made a promise to travel to Sabang four times a week.

Zakira also said that Sail Sabang 2017 is the region's last event of 2017. 

Sail Sabang 2017 runs from Nov. 28 to Dec. 5 and consists of plenty of activities and shows, including Sabang Underwater Photography at Iboih Beach and Gapang on Nov. 29; a business meeting with cruise lines on Nov. 30, the opening of Sail Sabang 2017 Pasiran as well as traditional boat parade and paramotor exhibition in Sabang Bay on Dec. 2; bazaar and expo at Sabang Fair and Free Dive Championship on Dec. 3; and fishing competition around Rondo Island, cultural festival, fishing boat parade and wind surfing on Dec. 3-4.
