German, Russian foreign ministers meeting at G20 not up for discussion, says Berlin

Baerbock will attend the G20 meeting on Thursday and Friday, said the ministry spokesperson. Lavrov is expected to attend.

A meeting between German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and her Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, while in Indonesia for the G20 is not up for discussion due to the war in Ukraine, a German foreign ministry spokesperson said on Monday.

Baerbock will attend the G20 meeting on Thursday and Friday, said the ministry spokesperson. Lavrov is expected to attend.

Lavrov will attend the Group of 20 (G20) foreign ministers' meeting in Bali this week, a spokesperson for the Russian embassy in Jakarta told Reuters on Tuesday.

The meeting, hosted by current G20 chair Indonesia takes place from July 7-8.

Denis Tetiushin, a spokesperson at the Russian embassy in Jakarta, confirmed to Reuters that Lavrov would join the July 7-8 meeting in Bali.

An Indonesian foreign ministry spokesperson was not able to immediately confirm that.
