hina Daily Asia Pacific hosted a team of video editors from across Asia in late November, discussing effective ways to share video content.
The two-day meeting, which took place in Hong Kong, China, gathered editors from eight countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines and Vietnam to discuss effective ways to share video content among Asia News Network (ANN) newsrooms.
Indonesia was represented by The Jakarta Post.
“As members of ANN, we are united by a common mission: to exchange and share stories and pictures, enriching our content and benefiting each member within our network. This spirit of collaboration is just as crucial in our video endeavors,” said Zhou Li, deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily Group and publisher and editor-in-chief of China Daily Hong Kong.
“Video has become a powerful tool for communication and storytelling, and as leading media outlets in Asia, it is vital that we stay at the forefront of this trend,” he added.
During the ANN meeting, the editors also took turns updating each other on their newsroom operations and how they are adapting to trends in news consumption with the growing popularity of social media platforms. They also discussed new collaborative projects to pursue.
