Works of design students from two educational institutions here are on show.
At the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, students team up with their peers from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi in Bangkok to create their versions of a daybed.
The students were mentored by three established designers - Jitrin Jintaprecha and Pote Nilsaard from Thailand, and Melvin Ong from Singapore. After they came up with their designs, their prototypes went into production by Thai manufacturers Hawaii Thai and Deesawat.
Interesting pieces include a daybed modeled on a leaf.
These daybeds are part of FurnitureOrigins 2016, a collaborative showcase between both schools that is taking place for the third time. The previous two collections are also on display. The free exhibition ends tomorrow.
Next week, 450 final-year projects from students at Temasek Polytechnic go on display at The Design Show 2016. New ideas and works will be presented across design fields such as architecture, graphic design, fashion and film.
For example, apparel design and merchandising students Denise Gow and Dorcas Lum have worked magnets into garments - to help wheelchair-bound women get dressed easily.
And with Puff Pal, Nur Syahidah Roslan and Tay Jing Ying from the product and industrial design course made an asthma inhaler that children can hold with their small hands.
The inhaler comes in various animal shapes and is linked to a mobile app that informs parents when the dosage is running low.
