round 960,000 high school students are set to take computer-based national exams on April 4, the education minister said on Tuesday.
Culture and Education Minister Anies Baswedan said the number of participants was higher than the state university entrance exam, which was being sat by 600,000 students and was not yet computer-based.
"If we use paper-based exams, the answers will have to be multiple choice. But if they're computer-based, we can add more variety besides text, such as drawings," he said as quoted by Antara news agency.
He added that all preparations for the national exam were under control, especially in terms of logistics. (wir/kes)
