KPU-produced film 'Suara April' encourages millennials to vote

uara April (April Votes), a film produced by the General Elections Commission (KPU), is set to make its theatrical debut in Medan, North Sumatra on April 14.

North Sumatra KPU head Yulhasni said the film would serve as an encouragement for members of the public, especially the millennial generation, to use their voting rights in the simultaneous presidential and legislative elections on April 17.

“The film sends a message that encourages the public to cast their votes on the 17th,” Yulhasni said, as quoted by Antara

He said Suara April would also contain educational scenes explaining the inner workings of general elections, including voting mechanisms and the types of ballots used.

The film premiered at XXI Epicentrum in Kuningan, South Jakarta on March 15. (rfa/kes)
