amadhan has arrived, yet you are busier than ever. Luckily, there are cell phone applications to help you keep your religious activities on track, even when you are at your busiest. Some of the apps can also come in handy after the fasting month passes.

Islamic Thinking

From one of the most followed Islamic social media accounts, the Islamic Thinking app by Usamah Khan enables users to get a daily feed of hadith, posts from the app's Instagram account, as well as short motivational Islamic stories that come with notification features. The developer stated on Monday that the application would become available on iOS in three to five days.

Muslim Pro – Ramadan 2016

This app developed by Bitsmedia Pre Ltd is a jack-of-all-trades in the Islamic mobile app world. It enables users to view fasting times for Ramadhan, send Ramadhan greeting cards and set prayer time alarms, all by optimizing users’ phone location services. It also has an in-app zakat calculator as well as Koran translations. The Indonesian translation was reportedly provided by the Religious Affairs Ministry. Available in several languages, it works on Android and iOS.

Ramadan Legacy

Ramadan Legacy is mainly intended to create a community for Muslims to share experiences and activities throughout the month. It provides a simple, personal religious planner to use during the holy month, as well as Islamic blog content selected by the developer. It also has a feed board named ‘Reflections’ for people who want to share their Ramadhan experiences. Available on Android and iOS.

Sahih Bukhari – All Hadiths

In this app, Koran reading provides users with a list of hadith from Shahih Al-Bukhari — one of the most trustworthy hadith collectors — something that is hard to find manually. On this app, users can find 97 hadith books with separate topics, such as “Revelation”, “Belief” and “Knowledge”. Available on both Android and iOS (search for the name Sahih Al-Bukhari for iOS).

myQuran – Quran with Tafsir

In this application developed by Gatafan ltd., users can find complete verses of the Koran, accompanied by translations or tafsir in several languages. It also comes with recitations by 22 different people. Available in Android and iOS.

Ramadan Duas

Koran reading can also be done using another application during the holy month, which is Ramadan Duas. It has selections of duas (prayers) and tasbeeh related to the month, along with translations. Available on Android and iOS. (asw)
