he drummer of Yogyakarta-based pop punk band Endank Soekamti, Ari Dwi Hamzah, has announced his departure from the group on his Path account.
“As of June 22, I have officially resigned from Endank Soekamti. Thank you for the amazing journey for almost 16 years,” he wrote.
Ari joined the band in 2002 alongside Dory, the guitarist. Together with bassist and vocalist Erix, they released Endank Soekamti’s debut album in 2003, Kelas 1.
The band stated that Ari would always be part of the band. “Ari Soekamti is irreplaceable,” they said in a press release, adding that the group could neither replace him position nor his drum set. “From now on, Endank Soekamti will perform with an additional player as the drummer.”
