Dubbed Gempita, the app aims to support Indonesian musicians as well as protect them from piracy. “It will also include foreign music, but will mainly focus on music by local artists,” Bekraf infrastructure deputy Hari Sungkari told tempo.co on Tuesday.
Gempita is expected to offer a more affordable rate for its subscribers. “It will certainly be cheaper than iTunes, probably [starting from] Rp 50,000 [US$3.8],” Hari added.
