amsung launched its latest smartphone the Galaxy Note 7 in Jakarta on Tuesday by live streaming the official launch event in New York.
The device is a combination of premium materials and new-edge design that had given the previous Galaxy S7 a unique and symmetric design. “The design of the Galaxy Note takes from the S7’s thin sides,” said PT Samsung Electronic Indonesia's mobile product marketing head, Ifran Rinaldi, as quoted by tempo.co.

It also boasts new features, including the S-Pen, which is known to withstand high water pressure and other environmental problems, higher security features that include the Samsung Knox Biometric scanner and an iris scanner. The smartphone also comes with the option of streaming HDR video.
Available in black onyx, platinum gold and titanium silver, the Galaxy Note 7 is being sold at a whopping Rp 10,777,000 (US$821) with preorders begin on Aug. 5. (ken/kes)
