s Jakarta prepares to host music icon Morrissey's concert next week, news outlets have reported that meat products will be banned from the venue.
"Among the prerequisites for the concert that need to be noted is that no meat products are allowed in the concert area," said promoter KiosPLAY in an official statement as quoted by kompas.com on Wednesday.
The 57-year-old British singer Steven Patrick Morrissey, who is known to be a vegan, has banned meat products at his shows for years. In 2011, he famously made such a demand during the 10-day Lokerse Feesten music festival in Belgium, which was unprecedented as the event is famous for its horsemeat sausage meals. But, in order to have Morrissey perform, only vegetarian food was available in the venue on Aug. 4, 2011, the day he went on stage.

Other than the aforementioned restriction, video recording, any kinds of camera, from professional models to action cameras like GoPro, as well as selfie sticks, are also included in the banned list. "Also, no smoking," added the promoter.
Slated for Gelora Bung Karno in South Jakarta at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 12, the concert will open with a video montage followed by a 90-minute live performance. This will be his second concert in Indonesia after a successful one back in 2012. (fmn/kes)
