igital information storage company Seagate is set to later this month release its latest portable hard drive, which it claims will have the world’s highest capacity.
The 5TB Backup Plus Portable is intended for saving higher resolution and higher volume data. It features Seagate’s new BarraCuda internal drive with 2.5 inch 1TB technology and it will be the first unit to be incorporated with the BarraCuda 5TB drive.
According to dailysocial.id, this latest Backup Plus product does not need an external power supply.

The portable hard drive has high-speed 2.0 connectivity and USB 3.0 and can be used for Windows and Mac computers -- as long as the users have installed an NTFS driver for Mac. Covered in durable aluminum, it is 20.5 mm in width and is twice as thick as the Backup Ultra Slim or Backup Slim.
The unit is available in black, red, silver and blue for a starting price of US$189.90. (wir/kes)
