A disco themed run is set to be held in Ancol, North Jakarta, on March 18.
Initiated by entertainment company Brian Syarif Production (BSPRO), the 5-kilometer Disco Beach Run will be a mixture of sports, music technology and disco sessions at the end of the event.
“This event is created for runners, music communities and disco lovers to do healthy activity that adjusts to the modern lifestyle,” said company CEO Febrian Nugraha on Thursday as quoted by Antara news agency.

Slated to attract around 2,000 participants, who will be encouraged run in disco-influenced attire, the event offers a Rp 5 million (US$375) cash prize for winners in the female and male categories, while second and third winners will take home Rp 3 million and Rp 2 million, respectively. There is a Rp 1 million prize for best dressed.
Runners who register by Jan. 18 will be offered a lower participation fee of Rp 250,000. The normal price is Rp 300,000. (mas/kes)
