ollowing the success of its first event in 2015, the Ride to Khong’s Legendary cycling competition returns to Thailand from Jan. 12-15.
The competition is divided into three stages, namely Speed Hunter, Mountain of Honor and Charming of Khong. Speed Hunter consists of a 3.8-kilometer route around Bueng Khan Nakhon Lake in Khon Kaen province. Meanwhile the latter two will cover a distance of 131 kilometers each across Kalasin, Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom provinces.

Participants can expect to enjoy breathtaking views along the route as they pass through the Phu Phan Mountains where villagers still preserve their original culture, the Pha Nang Mern and Pha Hin Yao areas, which are famous as romantic spots to enjoy the sunset, as well as other picturesque places like the Khong Ping Ngu Curve, Phratart Phranom and Phraya Sri Satta Naga Court.
Prizes of up to 60,000 baht (US$1687) are on offer for winners. Further information can be obtained from the competition’s official website. (kes)
