Jakarta deputy gubernatorial candidate Sandiaga Uno launched his own running shoes line, the 910 SandiUno edition, on Sunday.
The launch was held during the candidate’s Jakarta Berlari (Jakarta Runs) campaign in Manggarai, South Jakarta.
Kompas.com reported that the shoes were produced by Hartono, a shoemaker who had joined Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga’s OK-OCE (One District, One Center of Entrepreneurship) program.
The retail price of the shoes is Rp 499,000 (US$37.45) and resellers reportedly can get a special price of Rp 369,000. During the occasion, Sandiaga asked Jakarta residents to join the program by registering as resellers.

“[The shoes] will be one of the OK-OCE’s products and will produced by several Jakarta volunteers. However, we open the opportunity for all [Jakarta] residents to join the OK-OCE [program] by becoming distributors of the 910 SandiUno edition shoes,” he said.
“Hopefully, the shoes will be a symbol for Jakarta to keep moving, running and catching up [with the world], as well as to living healthily,” added Sandi.
Those interested in buying the shoes or becoming a distributor can check out Jakarta Berlari’s website. Currently, there are only 500 pairs available. (jes/kes)
