Disposable diaper brand Huggies recently announced a new product that caters to premature babies.
Forming a part of the company's campaign titled No Baby Unhugged, the Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diapers are for babies who weigh less than 1 kilogram and have features like a softer liner to avoid skin rash in babies.
Dr. Valencia Walker, medical director for the UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica neonatal intensive care unit in the United States says, "the skin of a preterm infant is a little bit more fragile than a full-term infant. So you really want to try and keep that skin dry” as quoted by CNN.

More and more statistics convey that there is a growing need for such infant amenities. For instance, the Center for Disease Control states that 1 per 10 babies that are born in the US are premature, which means that 1.4 percent of babies cannot fit snugly into standard-sized diapers. (nik/kes)
