he Indonesian distributor of sneaker brand Vans, PT. Gagan Indonesia, has filed for bankruptcy at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court after failing to negotiate with its creditors under the debt postponement petition (PKPU).
All Vans Indonesia stores had been closed down starting May 31, according to kompas.com.
Loyal Vans shoppers have expressed disappointment over the development on social media, using the hashtag #savevansindonesia on Twitter and Instagram. Some of them posted photos of Vans' "Off the Wall" slogan that serves as the brand’s official catchphrase.

According to kontan.co.id, the company also distributed other popular brands in Indonesia, including Adidas, Bebe, Promod, Quiksilver and Ted Baker. (wir/kes)
