T
he Jakarta Great Sale (FJGS) 2017 kicked off on Friday throughout the capital city. Slated until July 12, those seeking to purchase discounted items by up to 70 percent may want to consult the list below of things to know before you go.
Not only malls
This year's Jakarta Great Sale not only involves shopping malls, but also traditional markets and hotels.
"The number of participants has increased this year; now there are 81 shopping malls and 40 traditional markets joining the event," said FJGS committee head Ellen Hidayat on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.
Twelve hotels are also participating in the great sale by offering discounts to their guests.

Scheduled midnight sale
One of the most popular activities during the Jakarta Great Sale, the midnight sale, will be conducted alternately.
Up to 27 shopping malls are slated to host the midnight sale event, with the schedule as listed below.

Attractive prizes
Shoppers can expect to win prizes amounting to a total of Rp 400 million (US$30,111) during the great sale period, consisting of Rp 260 million worth of shopping vouchers, six motorcycles and 10 televisions.
