opular HBO show Game of Thrones is set to present the series' longest episodes, with the final two in season seven to span the length of a short feature film each.
While the upcoming season would be its shortest to date, as seasons one-six have all featured 10 episodes, season seven's final two had especially caught special attention, The Verge reported.
As listed on Watchers on the Wall, an online community for the famed fantasy series, episode six is set to be 71 minutes long, while the season finale would stretch to 81 minutes.
The show's longest episodes are leading to highly anticipated surprises, as last year's finale had only 68 minutes to deliver jam-packed actions that stayed true to the show’s signature storyline filled with exhilarating drama and intensity.

The remaining episodes are all still above the average 43-minute length, without commercials slated for an "hour" of broadcast TV.
Episodes one, two and five are all listed as 59 minutes long. Meanwhile, episode three is 63 minutes long and episode four has a duration of 50 minutes.
Season seven is set to air on July 16 and will be followed by a full, two-year hiatus until the start of the next season scheduled for 2019. (kes)
