ood news for fans of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. Warner Bros. has announced that DC’s powerful Amazon princess and her adventures will be back in Dec. 19, 2019.

The release date was previously concealed as a Wonder Woman premiere “WB event film”, reported ew.com.

DC’s Geoff Johns, who oversees the DC film universe with Jon Berg for Warner Bros., has previously confirmed he is working on the script.

The studio announced they were working on a sequel at the San Diego Comic Con 2017, following the success of the first film. The sequel of the superhero movie will also be out in IMAX.

Gadot’s Wonder Woman was a highlight for many following the divisive Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This creates a good base for the opening movie of the lasso-wielding warrior with invulnerable bracers and greaves.

Out in June 2017, the movie managed to gain US$389 million in the US box office, with around $390 million raked in from international markets.

Wonder Woman will be screened in Japan on August, and it is already the second-highest grossing movie of 2017 after Beauty and the Beast.

The highest-earning summer blockbuster and, starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and directed by Patty Jenkins, has received favorable reviews. The movie is also the highest-grossing film directed by a woman. Only Batman v Superman tops it in earnings among DC Universe movies. (dan/kes)
