ctor Peter Sudarso returns to Jakarta to promote his latest work, Power Rangers Ninja Steel, where the Indonesian-born actors plays Blue Ranger Preston Tien in the US-based television series.
"I grew up watching [Power Rangers] and when I found out that you could actually be a Power Ranger, I was like, of course I'm going to try," Peter said enthusiastically in a video interview with Antaranews.com.
Peter said he had concluded shooting the superhero series two months ago.
Speaking to reporters after the 2017 Popcon Asia press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, Peter expressed interest in acting in an Indonesian film. Despite his experience in the action genre, however, Peter said he would prefer to play in a drama.
"Because I'm not really good in doing action. I only did my action [scene] once [in Power Rangers], the rest was a stuntman," Peter said, as quoted by Kompas.com.
Having grown up in the US after moving there at the age of eight, the 26-year-old, however, confessed that he speaks poor Indonesian language. Nevertheless, he was enthusiastic at any chance to take part in a project in Indonesia.
"If there are [offers], I would love to," he said.
The actor further said he has missed Indonesian culinary since his last visit to the country two years ago, adding that his favorite dishes include bakmi karet (noodles) and sate babi (pork skewers).

Peter's older brother, Yoshi, had also played the role of the Blue Ranger in a previous adaptation of the popular superhero series, namely the Power Rangers Dino Charge that aired in the US in 2015 until 2016. (liz/asw)
