ollowing the success of local movie Warkop DKI Reborn: Jangkrik Boss in local box office chart, the sequel is set to be premiered across Indonesia on Aug. 31.
Based on the recently released trailer, the story continues the adventure of Dono, Kasino and Indro in Malaysia as they are looking for treasure to pay their debt. However, in the middle of the journey, their bag that contains a code to find the treasure has been swapped by a Malaysian named Nadia, who later bring them to a haunted, uninhabited island. On the island, the trio got separated and have to face scary yet funny ghosts.

Viewers reportedly could expect to see Indro ‘Warkop’ returning as cameo, as well as dangdut legend Rhoma Irama.
“In addition to Warkop-style jokes, [the film] will also feature many surprises and twists,” the film producer Frederica told tempo.co.
The first movie is said to attract more than six million moviegoers, making it one of the country’s most popular movie last year. (wir/kes)
