The Google Assistant app is now equipped with the ability to “speak” and understand Indonesian.
According to kompas.com, Android users can start trying this feature when using the Google Assistant app or the company's smart messaging app named Allo.
"This Google Assistant is equipped with machine learning, which is a machine that continues to learn in order to improve its performance," Product Management director of Google Search, Ken Tokusei, told a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.

The Indonesian language ability can reportedly be seen from the sticker recommendation that appears when users chat via Allo. Usually this recommendation only appears when users type in English.
Users can also ask Google Assistant to search for information via the chat column using Indonesian. For instance, they can type: "@google: cari restoran indonesia di dekat sini" instead of "@google: find Indonesian restaurants nearby" when they want to be presented with an accurate result on the Allo chat column.
