oogle has announced it is set to prepare a new feature on Waze specifically for Indonesia, which would identify lanes where the odd-even license plate policy is implemented for a thorough navigation.

Di-Ann Eisnor, Waze's growth director, said during a "Google for Indonesia" event on Thursday that the feature was developed especially for the country, where two million people on a daily basis actively use the app.

"Right now the app is being tested. In Indonesia, it would be able to navigate based on the number plate of the vehicle. Simply enter the last two digits of the license plate into Waze," Eisnor said, as quoted by kompas.com.

Additionally, Indonesian users would also have access to two other features. In collaboration with Spotify, one of the features is a custom playlist recommendations for the road. While another feature provides voice prompts in the Indonesian language.

"The Indonesian language navigator can be directly obtained from the Waze language selection menu. There are three options available, namely Dian, Septi and Alva," Eisnor said.

In addition, users can also record their own voice to be used as a voice navigator in the application, she added. (liz/kes)
