akarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2018, which will run from Oct. 21-27 at Central Jakarta's Senayan City shopping mall, is to feature South Korean designers in a special segment of the annual show.

The annual event is slated to showcase South Korean labels Daily Mirror and August Alive on Oct. 25 at its K-INVASION stage.

Daily Mirror, founded in 2014 by young designer Kim Ju Han, will present its 2018 Spring/Summer collection themed “A Summer’s Christmas” at the annual fashion gala.

August Alive, established in 2015 by Park Se-Jin and known for its modern contemporary looks, will also present a collection at Jakarta Fashion Week.

In addition to the South Korean fashion labels, the K-INVASION stage will host singer Thunder, a former member of South Korean boy band MBLAQ, and performances by K-pop cover dance group Code DC.

Antara news agency reported that the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) Indonesia was supporting the shows.

KOCCA Indonesia regional director Kim Nam Gol said in a press release that South Korea's participation in the event was in response to the Korean Wave phenomenon in Indonesia. During JFW 2018, the agency also plans to facilitate business opportunities between the two labels and Indonesian retailers. (jes/kes)
