n Wednesday, two days after Bryan Singer was fired from the project, Fox announced that production of Bohemian Rhapsody will resume next week under the direction of Dexter Fletcher.
Fletcher, an English actor and filmmaker, is no stranger to the movies, according to Entertainment Weekly. He has appeared in a number of movies, including Kick-Ass and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and directed a few TV shows.
Singer’s contract was terminated following his frequent absence from the London set, which resulted in a production halt. Moreover, Singer and lead actor Rami Malek reportedly had disagreements.

In a statement, Singer denied that his ousting was related to his clashes with Malek, acknowledging that they had some “creative differences” that they had put behind them. He claimed he was unable to be present on set because he had to return to the United States after one of his parents fell ill.
He added, “This was a very taxing experience, which ultimately took a serious toll on my own health. Unfortunately, the studio was unwilling to accommodate me and terminated my services.”
The Freddie Mercury biopic is scheduled to released on Christmas Day next year. (afr/kes)
