Bogor regency in West Java was named third-best golf destination in the Asia-Pacific by Asian Golf Awards 2017.
Announced in Da Nang, Vietnam, on Nov. 16, the winners were chosen based on an online poll of golfing facilities across the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition to announcing Bogor as the third-best golf destination in the Asia-Pacific, the event also revealed the 10 best courses in Indonesia. In the top three, the ranking includes Rainbow Hills Golf Club in Babakan Madang district and Riverside Golf Club in Cikeas as the first and second runners-up, respectively. The two golf courses are located in Bogor.

Meanwhile, Ria Bintan Golf Club in Riau Islands province was named the best golf course in Indonesia.
Zainal Syafrudidin, head of marketing for Tourism Bogor, said in a press release: “It is an honor that the Asian Golf Awards has acknowledged Bogor as a golf destination, with the recent award received as the Best Region for Golf in Asia in 2017. This is not the first time that Bogor has received such award. In 2016, Bogor was awarded as a sporting tourism destination for golf. There continues to be a real appetite for golf in Bogor, which is reflected in the impressive rise in the number of international visitors over recent years.” (asw)
