Sensation music festival to make Jakarta debut

ensation, an indoor electronic dance music (EDM) festival, is set to be held for the first time in Indonesia at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, on Feb. 10.
Themed "The Ocean of White", the festival is said to feature laser shows, acrobats, light shows and pyrotechnic effects.
Among the DJs scheduled to perform are DJ Mr. White, Dutch DJ Quintino, Turkish-Dutch DJ Ummet Ozcan, DJ duo Lucas and Steve and DJ brothers Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. Additionally, Sensation's resident MC, MC Gee, will also participate in the event.

Similar to previous Sensation events, festival-goers must be dressed in all-white. The dress code aims to honor Miles Stutterheim, the younger brother of Sensation founder Duncan Stutterheim, who passed away in a car accident following the first Sensation event.
The festival was initiated by a group of young EDM enthusiasts who held a trance music party in a house garage in 1992. The first Sensation was held in 2000 at Amsterdam Arena (now known as The Johan Cruyff Arena) in the Netherlands.
The event is also slated to be held in Singapore for the first time and return to Thailand for the first time in four years. (wir/kes)
