akarta Sneaker Day (JSD) will return on March 1-March 3 in The Hall of the Senayan City shopping center, the event's chairman announced at a press conference on Monday.
JSD chairman Andrey Noelfry Tarigan said this year's JSD would feature the exclusive release of five new sneaker designs, reported kompas.com. One of these will be the re-release of Vans x Metallica footwear collection, designed in collaboration with the legendary heavy metal band.
"There will be many other releases," Andrey said, in comparison to the collection's earlier Indonesian release.

This year's JSD takes on the "Back to the Roots" theme and will have 40 stalls, slightly less than last year's event. According to the organizer, only quality footwear will be on offer, as all participating the vendors had been vetted through rigorous screening.
Andrey could not confirm whether the vendors would display rare shoes. However, he assured that the JSD would feature many good shoes from branded lines.
"We want more members of the Indonesian general public to wear sneakers, from young children to adults," Andrey said. (liz/kes)
