Guests at Billy Tjong's "Divine Beauty" bridal and evening wear show were in for a surprise.
ollowing a parade of flowing, feminine gowns, one final model entered the runway with an unexpectedly simple, nude strapless dress. She was soon followed by the line's designer Billy Tjong, which would usually have signaled the end of the show. But in a surprise move, Billy began to drape the model with white silk fabric and soon, the designer was showcasing his dressmaking process on stage.

In the end, he presented the result: a customized one-shoulder, floor-length dress that became the final piece in his Divine Beauty collection at Sunday's show, part of the Jakarta Wedding and Honeymoon Festival at the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta in Mega Kuningan.
Billy, a favorite among those looking for classically pretty formal wear, presented evening gowns and bridal dresses in his collection, which was inspired by the different characteristics of women. Beginning the show with vibrant red pieces, the collection consistently featured the ladylike forms and dainty details that make up his signature style.
Blue-grey dresses were drenched in glitter to sparkle from head to toe. The bridal gowns, meanwhile, showed more variety, from sleek silhouettes to extravagant ball gowns, as well as fitted lace dresses and a full mesh cape. (mut)
