Veteran actor Deddy Sutomo has passed away at the age of 76.
Veteran actor Deddy Sutomo has passed away at the age 76 on Apr. 18.
According to tempo.co, his funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Tanah Kusir Cemetery, South Jakarta
The news about Deddy’s passing was first circulated via instant messaging by one of his children, Becky. Many Indonesian actors responded to the news by posting messages of condolence on their social media accounts, among them Teuku Rifnu Wikana, Lukman Sardi, Djenar Maesa Ayu and Morgan Oey.

Born in 1941, Deddy has featured in many Indonesian films, including Mencari Hilal (The Crescent Moon), Sultan Agung, Kartini, Moon Cake Story and Panji Tengkorak. In 2015, he won the best leading actor award at the Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) for his role in Mencari Hilal. (wir/asw)
