-Pop boy band BTS won big at the 13th Annual Soompi Awards as the group brought home trophies from six categories, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Choreography.
Initiated by Soompi, the United States and Korea-based English online media outlet specializing in Korean entertainment, the result was based on web votes and Soompi Music Chart scores. The awards received over 163 million votes from fans in 190 countries and consisted of two broad categories, Music and Drama.

Other K-pop groups that brought home trophies included GOT7, which won Best Male Group category, and Wanna One, with the Rookie of the Year award.
Meanwhile, in the Drama category, Girl’s Generation member Yoona came out as the Actress of the Year winner for her role in The King Loves, and Lee Joon-gi won Actor of the Year for his role as Kim Hyun-joon in Criminal Minds.
Renowned South Korean drama Goblin won in three categories: Drama of the Year, Best Supporting Actor for Lee Dong-wook, Best Supporting Actress for Yoo In-na and Best Soundtrack. (wir/asw)
