Italian fashion house Fendi recently introduced its Spring and Summer 2018 collection at a pop-up store in Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta.

Its iconic Peekaboo bags are displayed at the front of the store. For this season, handbags come with tone-on-tone threading decoration finished with small bows. Another Peekaboo comes with tone-on-tone woven edges, with bag charms sold separately.

The multicolor leather and jacquard Space Monkey charm is a hot item, along with fox fur charms in the shape of ice cream that playfully screams summer.

Men are no less spoiled by the fashion house, with the attractive display of accessories adorned with printed drawings by British artist Sue Tilley. Large backpacks, shopper bags, pouches, bi-fold wallets, brooches and bracelets are inlaid with printed drawings of coffee cups, phones, cocktails and bananas that contribute to the Everyday Fendi theme.

The season also marks the first appearance of the Mon Trésor bag, a mini bucket presented in luxurious exotic leather festooned with metallic pearls, as well as the new Runaway tote in transparent tartan mesh and rounded rattan handles.

“The little bucket called Mon Trésor is hand stitched and you can feel the human touch. We created a new bag [too], which is a kind of big tote - like a farmer’s market tote - made using transparent mesh,” said Silvia Venturini Fendi, creative director of accessories and menswear at Fendi in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Kan I F bag returns, trimmed in raffia fringes and worn with leafy suede Strap You handles. Banana and Bao-bug charms accent the collection's tropical feel.

The temporary store also houses the women’s ready to wear collection, where one has shades of ocean blue wash against seafoam green, coral pink and sand. The silhouette drapes off the shoulder, nips at the waist and blooms into a full skirt.

Colibri themed footwear also highlights this season’s collection. Sling-back pumps feature pointed toe, tartan print mesh panel, finished with an embossed, patterned, elasticated sling-back and striped ankle straps.

“The shoes are very interesting as we have used a very innovative technique normally used for sneakers and ready-to-wear. We have two different kinds of shoes: pointed high-heels and ballerinas all thermo-heated, so they are without seams. It’s a very technical kind of finishing,” explained Silvia.
