Joko Anwar-directed episode for HBO Asia’s horror series Folklore will make its world premiere at the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month.

— Joko Anwar (@jokoanwar) August 17, 2018The episode, titled A Mother’s Love, will feature along with another episode from the series, which is an HBO Asia Original series produced with the support of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and created by award-winning Singaporean filmmaker Eric Khoo. The other episode is titled Pob and is directed by Thai director Pen-Ek Ratanaruang.

The induction marks the first time an Asian TV series has been selected since the inception of Primetime program at the TIFF in 2015.
The Primetime program channels the best international television fit for the silver screen, focusing on powerful, small-screen storytelling that pushes the boundaries of original scripted series and episodic programming.
