The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed on a positive note in Friday's final trading session, rising by 0.2 percent, or equal to 10.6 basis points, to finish at 5,143.4.
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data showed 147 traded shares strengthened by 4:00 p.m on Friday, compared with 142 shares that weakened and 213 shares which remained stable, according to kontan.co.id.
The volume of transactions involved 2.55 billion shares worth Rp 2.4 trillion (US$ 204 million).
Stocks in eight out of 20 sectors traded on IDX recorded improvements in the afternoon, with mining seeing the highest growth, jumping by 1.41 percent.
Mining was followed by basic industry and consumer products, which strengthened by 1.28 percent and 1.16 percent, respectively.
Stocks in the LQ45 index that saw the highest increase during the closing session included PT Indofood CBP Makmur (ICBP), PT XL Axiata (EXCL) and PT Charoen Pokphand (CPIN). (nfo)
