he National Narcotics Agency (BNN) announced in Jakarta on Monday that AirAsia Indonesia pilot with initial FI ,who had been suspected of using drugs after the Transportation Ministry carried out random tests, had a negative test result.
"The result of the BNN laboratory test has come out and it is negative,' BNN spokesman Comr. Sr. Sumirat Dwiyanto told the press in a conference as quoted by Antara news agency.
Sumirat said that his institution received samples of FI's urine and hair on Jan. 1, 2015.
The pilot had recently been discharged from hospital after being treated for typhoid fever. On the day of his drug test, he was still taking prescribed medication.
'We have found that he was consuming a number of different drugs but his use is based on doctor's order. This is not a drug abuse case,' he said, adding that the test result was sent to the ministry's aviation health division on Jan.9.
AirAsia Indonesia president director Sunu Widyatmoko said that FI was hospitalized from Dec. 26 to 29, 2014. (nfo)(+++)
