Comments on other issues: Public outraged by Tedjo'€™s remarks

The public’s rising anger toward the police and a growing impatience with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo have been partly channeled against Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, who has acted more like the spokesman of his NasDem Party than as Jokowi’s chief security minister

he public'€™s rising anger toward the police and a growing impatience with President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo have been partly channeled against Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, who has acted more like the spokesman of his NasDem Party than as Jokowi'€™s chief security minister.

Your comments:

If he said KPK supporters are '€œrakyat nggak jelas'€ (unclear segments of the people) then Jokowi is not the President of Indonesia because Jokowi was elected by them.

Tedjo is ill equipped to handle a post as the political, legal and security affairs minister. He seems to lack maturity and a strong grasp of each of those subjects to handle such '€œaffairs'€ on behalf of Indonesia. He is a political appointee, the crème de la crop from NasDem.

Time and again he has not shown maturity, forethought, knowledge or skill in answering questions posed to the Indonesian central government nor has he addressed problems the central government has faced. (Many problems which fall almost squarely on his feet such as this recent police fiasco; It is his fault for not obtaining all the necessary information concerning the candidate.)

Many issues that he deems trivial (i.e. not on the money-making or power-increasing agenda) are important issues to regular Indonesians. Can someone point out a political appointee minister that is actually qualified to do anything positive for the Indonesian people (not just their political party and patrons)?

Tedjo needs to be called in by Jokowi'€™s chief of staff immediately and be given a yellow card. He must realize that he is working for the President at the latter'€™s pleasure even if he was parachuted in because of political horse trading. Anyway, his remarks merely strengthen the President'€™s hand that he will fail his probation period and will be replaced soon enough.
