he Batam Social Service Office picked up at least 15 problematic migrant workers, who were deported by the Malaysian government, at the International Batam Center port on Tuesday.
The deported workers, who were employed mostly as housemaids, came from various regions across Indonesia, including North Sumatra, Java and Nusa Tenggara.
They departed from Johon, Malaysia, and arrived in Batam at 11 a.m. where they were apprehended by local law and order officers.
"They will be flown to Jakarta before being sent to their respective hometowns," one of the officers said as quoted by tribunnews.com. (hhr) (++++)
