Head of the Bandung Disaster Mitigation Agency Marlan said on Wednesday that the search would be concentrated in three housing, fishing and forest areas.
'The latest information I have received is that the number of missing victims is nine and they are believed to be buried in the three areas,' kompas.com quoted him as saying.
More than 400 personnel from the Indonesian Military (TNI), the local police office, the Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) and volunteers are being deployed today to search for the missing victims.
The landslide was triggered by a strong explosion at a pipeline belonging to Star Energy, in Marga Mukti Village, Pangalenga. A number of houses were buried in the landslide and at least four people were killed, while four others who were wounded were rushed to the regional hospital in Baleendah. (rms)(++++)
