Bogor Police are still looking for the owners of 3.8 tons of marijuana found in a rest area on the Jagorawi toll road on Sunday.

So far, the police have only managed to arrest the courier, who was identified with initials TP and comes from Bogor regency.

West Java Police spokesperson Sr. Comr Sulistyo Pudjo said that the arrest was the result of a number of previous police investigations.

'€œThis is still a preliminary finding. The police are still chasing other suspects,'€ Pudjo said, as quoted by kompas.com on Friday.

He said the police suspected that the marijuana, found in 81 sacks in a truck covered only with tarpaulins, was intended for distribution in Jakarta, West Java and Bogor areas.

Pudjo added that the owners of the seized drugs faced a maximum penalty of death for violating the 2009 law on narcotics. (ika)
