director of a private company is on the run after the police declared him a suspect in a bribery case related to salt import permits and quotas.
The Jakarta Police criminal detective director Sr. Comr. Khrisna Murti said on Friday that the police failed to detain the PT. GSA director, identified only as CJ, because he escaped to Singapore. CJ is suspected of having bribed officials at the Trade Ministry.
"The police are currently pursuing him in Singapore," Khrisna said as quoted by kontan.co.id., adding that they would issue a red notice on CJ soon to prevent him from fleeing to another country.
"We will send a note to Interpol through the National Police's international relationship division," he said.
The case was first investigated by a special team from the Jakarta Police who found evidence that lead to suspicions of graft after they searched offices of the directorate general of foreign trade at the Trade Ministry.
Along with CJ, director general PP, the ministry head of non-imported capital goods subdirectorate IA and a host of accomplices identified only as MU, ME and L, have been named suspects. (rad)
