President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla have reportedly filed a complaint to the police alleging that Setya used their names and offices in trying to acquire 20 percent of PT Freeport Indonesia.(JP/DON)
Your comments on President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's move to report House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto to the police over the latter's alleged attempt to use the President and Vice President's names to acquire PT Freeport Indonesia shares:
Nice words. Chance of any meaningful action: zero.
I predict a distraction. What will it be? Sex case? Drugs? Terror attack?
Maybe all three just to play it safe.

Setya obviously had to be very cunning to have got where he is. It would be stupid to extort money in the President's name without permission.
So I am not sure Kalla and Jokowi were not involved.
It has taken a long time for them to respond. But I will be glad to see Setya in jail either way.

This is exactly what the President needs to do! Send a strong message to the House of Representatives and others who try to exploit the state for personal gain. Golkar would be wise to drop Setya.

Jokowi must close down the House, ban political activities and give back his mandate to a national committee. With the support of the Army of course. There is no way Indonesia can restore the credibility of its institutions.
Ungovernable! Rats took over the ship. It's anarchy!

Paris accord
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius presented a landmark global climate accord on Saturday, a 'historic' measure for transforming the world's fossil-fuel-driven economy within decades and turning the tide on global warming. In a win for a broad coalition of ambitious nations, the agreement sets a tougher goal for limiting the rise in the global temperature to 'well below' 2 degrees Celsius. What do you think?
