lag carrier Garuda Indonesia has had the most delays in both departures and arrivals in its domestic services through the Soekarno-Hatta International airport compared to other local airlines as carriers and airports struggle to cope with the jump in the number of passengers for the Idul Fitri holiday this week.
Between July 1 and 3, Garuda saw 82 delays in departures and 88 in arrivals, ranging between 30 and 60 minutes, according to On Time Performance data issued by the airport operator, Angkasa Pura II.
Sriwijaya Air came second, with delays in 63 departures and 61 arrivals, and Lion Air third with 84 delays for each departures and arrivals.
A Garuda Indonesia spokesman declined to comment on the airline's performance other than saying that many factors, like technical failures or weather issues, could have caused the delays. (jun)
