tate-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) plans to allocate Terminal 1, one of three terminals at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, exclusively to Lion Air in March 2017.
March 2017 is the deadline for the completion of the expanded Terminal 3. All international flights will be moved there, joining PT Garuda Indonesia's domestic flights, as part of the terminal reorganization.
"We must calculate the capacities and needs, and we plan to dedicate Terminal 1 to Lion Air, as it has the greatest flight frequency and passenger numbers," interim AP II president director Djoko Murjatmodjo said at Terminal 3 in Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Garuda will have all its domestic and international flights relocated to Terminal 3. "Air Asia has confirmed it will move to Terminal 2E, but other airlines haven’t confirmed yet. We will give you more details in three days at the earliest," he told thejakartapost.com.
As the existing Terminal 3 and the new one are to be effectively merged in March 2017, supporting infrastructure, such as an airport train and shuttle bus network, are expected to be ready by that time. (ags)
