ollster Charta Politika has issued its latest survey, which showed gubernatorial candidate Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono holding the highest electability rating followed by incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and gubernatorial candidate Anies Baswedan.

The survey, which was conducted from Nov. 17 to Nov. 24 or after Ahok was named a suspect for alleged blasphemy, showed Agus, the son of former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, with 29.5 percent of the votes out of 733 respondents.

Ahok and Anies, the former minister of culture and education, got 28.9 percent and 26.7 percent of the votes respectively, while undecided voters amounted to 14.9 percent.

“We were unable to determine which one will win the election since the margin of error in the survey is 3.5 percent,” Charta Politika executive director Yunarto Wijaya said on Tuesday as reported.

Yunarto said if the election was conducted today, the result could be a second round election as no candidate would earn more than 50 percent plus one vote as required by local election regulations.

Last week another pollster, Poltracking Indonesia, also put Agus in the lead, followed by Ahok and Anies. (jun)
