ommissioner of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Erlinda has said that her conversation with Zanette Kalila, 13, one of the survivors of a house invasion in Pulo Mas, East Jakarta, that left six dead, indicated the attack might have been motivated by revenge.
“Zanette gave me some clues. She said the perpetrators were evil and her dad was not wrong. The perpetrators are more than one,” Erlinda said on Tuesday night at Kartika Hospital without giving further details.
Erlinda said she saw anger in the eyes of Zanette who has a disability and difficulty talking.

The police plan to use an interpreter to obtain information from Zannete in a questioning on Wednesday, tribunnews.com reported.
Zannette was among 11 people locked in the house’s bathroom. Six of them died: Zannette’s father Dodi Triono, 59, her sisters Diona Arika, 19, and Dianita Gemma, 9, a friend Amel, and two drivers Anto and Tasrok.
Zannette and four others survived after being locked in the bathroom for almost 12 hours. They are now receiving treatment at the hospital.
The murder was revealed after Diona’s friend Sheila Putri visited the house on Tuesday and found the house unlocked. Sheila heard moaning in the locked bathroom and then reported the situation to security guards in the area.
Police earlier said that no precious belongings in the house were missing. Dodi was a businessman and architect who had reportedly just won a bid to renovate the Gelora Bung Karno national stadium. (jun)
